You can get plain wooden frames in all kinds of different sizes and shapes, along with the stencil of your choice, from any craft store. This 4x6 wood frame only cost me a dollar at Michael's. I also picked out a stencil with cutouts of gears to go along with the robot theme for Brodie's room.
Next you need paint. Regular inexpensive acrylic paint would work fine, but I just used this blue and yellow interior paint since I already had it on hand. Don't forget the clear gloss spray paint to finish it off when the original paint job dries.
Paint away and there you have it! A fun customized, yet inexpensive, picture frame to go with your designs.
